What Thickness Steel Should Be Used for a Welding Table?
Here’s a direct, practical answer you can use for customers or product content:
For a steel plate welding table (normal flat table):
6 mm: Too thin, easy to warp — only for very light work.
8 mm: Minimum for light‑to‑medium DIY use.
10–12 mm: Best all‑around thickness — strong, stable, hard to warp.
14–20 mm: Heavy‑duty, for industrial use, large workpieces, high heat.
For a 3D modular / cast iron welding table:
Table surface is usually 20–30 mm thick
Combined with strong ribs, so it’s extremely stable and deformation‑resistant.
Simple recommendation:
Home / small workshop: 10 mm thick steel plate
Professional workshop / industrial: 12 mm+ steel or cast iron 3D table.
