How to Prevent Rust on a Welding Table

1. Clean the surface regularly

Wipe off oil, water, slag, and dust daily.

Remove welding spatter and scale before it causes corrosion.

2. Apply a protective coating

Use high-temperature paint, anti-rust oil, or wax.

For cast iron tables: a light coat of machine oil works great.

3. Keep it dry

Store the table in a dry, ventilated area.

Avoid long-term exposure to rain or humidity.

4. Avoid direct contact with corrosive materials

Do not leave chemicals, acids, salty items, or wet workpieces on the table.

5. Use the table regularly

Regular use and light oiling keep rust away better than long storage.

6. Touch up early

If small rust spots appear, sand them immediately and reapply protection
