How to Design a Heavy‑Duty Welding Table

(Professional, clear version you can use for customers&product design)

1.Start with the Tabletop

Thickness:12–20 mm thick steel plate

Or cast iron table 20–30 mm thick for maximum anti‑deformation.

Size:Based on your largest workpiece.

Common heavy‑duty sizes:

1500×3000 mm,2000×4000 mm,or splicable modular design.

Surface:

Flat ground for precision.

For 3D design:add D28 hole grid(50×50 or 100×100 mm spacing).

2.Reinforce the Frame&Ribs

Use heavy square tube:100×100×6 mm or larger.

Add thick internal ribs below the tabletop:

spaced 300–500 mm apart to prevent bending and warping.

The frame must be fully welded&rigid—no weak points.

3.Strong Legs&Support

Legs:120×120 mm or 150×150 mm heavy tube

Add diagonal cross bracing between legs for stability.

Use adjustable feet to keep the table level on uneven floors.

For very large tables:add middle support legs.

4.Weight Capacity Target

Design for at least 2000–5000 kg total load.

Distribute load evenly so no single area is overloaded.

5.Heat&Deformation Control

Allow for thermal expansion in the structure.

Avoid long continuous welds in one area during manufacturing.

Cast iron or thick steel plate resists heat deformation best.

6.Practical Extras

Grounding point for stable welding.

Optional:heavy‑duty lockable casters for mobility.

Reinforced corners for impact resistance.

Fixture slots or holes if you want a 3D heavy‑duty table.

Short Summary for Customers

A good heavy‑duty welding table design has four key features:

Thick,rigid tabletop

Dense,strong internal ribs

Heavy frame&legs with bracing

Stable,level,anti‑deformation structure
